About Me

Father of four lovely children from ages 21 to 2 months old. I suppose I'm considered a "late bloomer" in life...but better late than never. I recently obtained a doctoral degree in clinical psychology and spent 4 grueling years in various clinical training sites attempting to learn how to detect, assess, and treat more things that could go wrong with your kids than you would ever care to know. I'm pretty good at it....however...my wife is licensed clinical psychologist and she is scary good at it. We are soon starting a private practice/consulting group in Salt Lake City Utah in the much needed areas Pediatric & Educational Psychology. I chose this area of concentration because after barely graduating high school and flunking out of college three time, a clinical psychologist diagnosed and treated a learning learning disability and it changed my life....it was very empowering for me to go from being thought of and treated as stupid, to people calling me "Doctor Thompson." I have been able to use my past life experiences in this area, in combination with my training, to change the lives of many children/teens who were headed down the same path that I lived for 35 years. I could not ask for a better or more fulling profession, wife, or son or daughters than I have. I'm a pretty lucky dude.
